our
chapter works on a variety of service projects throughout
the year to benefit needy children and others in our
community. Since we are a non-profit organization, we
perform various service projects throughout the year.
Several
of the area organizations that have benefited from our
Service Projects include:
- Fort
Bend Women’s Shelter
- George Memorial Library
- Rainbow Room
Last spring we had our first Dollar Auction fundraiser
benefiting Child Advocates of Fort Bend County (CAFB). CAFB
works on behalf of children who are victims of abuse. They strive to
provide a voice for abused and neglected children referred
to the organization through their two primary programs.
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) speaks on behalf of
abused children in family court. The Children’s Advocacy
Center (CAC) is a child-focused facility-based
multidisciplinary program.
This
year we co-hosted our second Teddy Bear Picnic and Bear
Drive benefiting Methodist Hospital’s Emergency Room
Department. We joined with two other area MOMS Club®
chapter’s for a fun day in the sun with our kids and also
helped the littlest visitors to the emergency room with a
new “friend” to help comfort them.
Our
next fundraiser will be a Dollar Raffle. In April, the
MOMS Club of Sugarland-SW, TX will host this event to
benefit the "Rainbow Room".
We
are proud to support our local community through our service
projects!
